lol I was educated in a private school at first... and it was shite!!
i think the reason they teach it is partly to do with their sodden "tradition" and partly to do with the fact they want everyone who goes there to end up as doctors and brain surgeons and Latin is very good to know in that field of work.
I had a choice of languages to learn, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Russian and a few others... I chose Latin and German cos they were the easiest, Latin is a piece of piss to learn but the teacher was irritating so it ruined the whole experience for me!
He was a stereotypical latin teacher, had a big beard, briefcase, the works, looked like someone from Ancient Rome!!
