Wirral Council (2) Jacobs 2 @ Wirral Council,
1 @ Jacobs Bailiffs
Both call center based jobs.
Would rather wipe monkeys butts for a living at Chester zoo than be a bailiff , they are walking soulless entities who didnt try hard enough at school, give people like this a little power and a uniform and it goes straight to they're head, see also traffic wardens and plastic police officers...
To these people who are Bailffs/traffic wardens and plastic police officers this is a job to them and as for the comment " they are walking souless entities who didn't try hard enough at school" they may have left school or even university and theres been no jobs in their field of education attained suitable so it's a case nowadays of taking what employment the individual is capable of doing to earn a wage.
Do you work MATTSVM? Would you like to tell us what you do and see if you enjoy us picking it apart?

A job's a job at the end of the day. "Your main responsibility will be to answer incoming calls from debtors to establish reasons for non payment and to negotiate payment arrangements depending on the individual’s financial circumstances. You will also be responsible for answering queries and resolving disputes in an effective and timely manner."
Seems the job is aimed at helping those with debt - rather then just banging on the door and taking valuables away. Not quite "soulless"
to be a baliff, you need to have the right frame of mind,
you see them on the tv, walking into peoples houses and taking the telly, computers, ect with the mother crying, the kids crying, it would be a tough job
plus there all look like there on steds

Erm...
That kind of gave away the fact that it didn't involve knocking on doors.
I knocked call centre jobs the other day, but I know when you need work, its not the worst you could do. My experience has been that I had several crap jobs (all temping related) before I managed to get something half decent. Its been work experience and not qualifications that have got me where I am today. Plus possibly a small helping of 'not what you know but who you know'.
Anyway, back on topic. Its good to see people posting up job vacancies they know about.
If we didn't have traffic wardens then the streets would be log jammed, there are people out there who don't give a ____ about others and the only thing that stops them parking where they like, is the thought that it may hit their pockets. If you park legally and don't overstay your time, then traffic wardens shouldn't bother you. If you don't like paying for parking or having restricted parking then see your local councillor, it's him and his mates that sanction parking charges etc.

Sometimes it's how they have to look , someone I know does this for a living, he goes out with a bailiff (Mr Average) and stands behind him all 6'7 and mean looking with just one rule.. "You do not speak". He has a voice that makes Julian Clarey sound butch, which can spoil the effect they were going for.
So if people don't pay their council tax and there are no bailiffs to recover the debts these people owe then the services the Council do would suffer - also they would have to make more cuts on jobs!! Sometimes peoples circumstances mean they cannot afford to pay it but in a lot of cases they just don't want to pay up.
I find it very sad that you label people just because of their occupation. Not all bailiffs are as they are portrayed to be on TV.
nobody likes paying council tax,, me included,, if i thought i could get away with it and there would be no come back then i wouldnt pay my £100 a month,, the bailiffs are a deterrent,, we may not like them (me included) but they are there for a reason and as has been stated already,,,,,, a job is a job at the end of the day
We pay council tax for a reason and why should some people not pay when they should. Yes the bailiffs are there for a deterrent and for a reason and you shouldn't believe all you see on the TV. Fees for bailiffs are actually set by the Council and not by the bailiff companies. A job is a job at the end of the day and being a bailiff, traffic warden, Community police officer - does not make you a bad person or "souless".
If people wish to wipe monkeys bottoms for a job - I wouldn't have the nerve to criticise - if that is what they have to do for a job then good luck to them - at least they are employed.
