Mrs phoned me from Cheshire Oaks around 3.30pm today saying she and her friend had finished shopping and would be heading back to the car to drive home, but "that the traffic looked a bit busy".

4.30 Mrs phoned to say she had been in her car near an hour but could not even get out of the parking bay because the road behind her was solid with cars that simply had not moved for an hour so she could not even back out of her parking space

She phoned again at 5pm saying the "Car park assistants" had suggested people in cars in bays go for a drink/ meal because it could be a long while before the traffic jams clear.

Mrs and her friend did that and Mrs phoned at 5.50 to say the traffic was moving "inch by inch"

She finally arrived back in Wallasey at 19.00

BEWARE !!

Some stout shoes and the bus from Birkenhead to Cheshire Oaks at Xmas or Easter or the weekend from Thursday to Sunday beats getting stuck in the traffic around the place, I only go to Maplins during the week but on a Sunday my wife forces me, well makes me drive her to M&S mad , I hate the place, I'd rather go to Chester Greyhound stadium shopping centre than the Oaks anytime even then she has to promise she won't force me to go into John Lewis, as I always end up buying something from the electronics area. laugh
