The Rose can come off the list, just heard it's re-opening tomorrow happy
Posted By: RUDEBOX Re: Bird in Hand, Wallasey. - 27th Nov 2012 9:34pm
Cheaper tho?

I rarely visit pubs, to socialise but sadly in the last 3 months I have attended two funerals. Between the two funerals I have visited the Sandbank (mainly to rescue chief mourner) where he and deceased partner where regulars, the Bird, the Great Float Club and the Joeys.
Other than that, there is F.A anymore, around here, in Seacombe. Obvs, the Bird has gone too now.

For me, I 'mourn' the history of the pubs. Century year old + legends, fables, local heroes, traditions etc

That is what makes me sad. frown

I, specifically mourn the loss of The Leasowe. Many happy times there, back in the day. Was a real community atmosphere, knew anybody....

You're right I missed the Float! Can't really count Brasseys and the Stump as they were yesteryear as was Davey Jones Locker.
