This years 'Run Liverpool Marathon' will be joined by a 'Run Wirral 10k' on Sunday 14 October, 2012.

A number of road closures will be in place between Birkenhead Park and New Brighton. The yellow signs have already been posted along the route. The route is the same as last year, but to incorporate the Wirral 10k it now extends all the way along Harrison Drive. They run back along the prom.

WARNING - Vehicles will be unable to enter or leave properties between the King St / Brighton St / Seabank Road corridor and the river, between Seacombe Ferry towards New Brighton and beyond. This will mean that you can't drive to the likes of The Egremont Ferry, The Magazines, the Pilot or even Morrisons!! Remember the chaos last year? It's back.

"The RunWirral 10K is a point to point course and is particularly flat starting in Birkenhead Park following a route along Vittoria Street, Tower Road, Four Bridges, Church Street, Brighton Street, King Street, Seabank Road, Rowson Street, King’s Parade to finish on Coastal Drive."

"The start time for the 2012 RunLiverpool Marathon will be 9.30am. The start will be in Birkenhead Park as last year ... There will not be any car parking arrangements in the vicinity of Birkenhead Park."

Just a thought, there's a remembrance at Birkenhead Park for the Spitfire crash towards Cole st end , although I think it's later on , is parking in the park still allowed?.

That'll be the Four Bridges that are closed, then?

The Four Bridges are closed now anyway. I guess they will be opened for the runners and then closed to cars again soon afterwards - unless the repairs are completed by then.
