Hi, does anyone know if the police still put identifing marks and your bike if you take them into the police station? I think they used to put your postcode on them somewhere, so they could be indentified if they got stolen.

I thought with all the recent bikes being stolen it may be worth taking my kids bikes in to have them done.

Thanks

Haven't bikes got little registration numbers on them, or is that a thing from the past, if it has, you can register that number with the police or at least you used to be able to.

This is promoted by Merseyside Police, might be worth a go. Also I took my daughters bike into the station when she was younger, they painted it with some smart water stuff, and made a note of it can't remember the details to be honest would be worth asking though.

They haven't done that for years, put your postcode on, they kept getting sued by people for "damaging" their bikes, so it's now a do it yourself job and register with them.
