Ask them to leave nicely, failing that, wash the bin and tip water down the grid.

Its not so much keeping the bin clean, you can clean it every two weeks when the bin is emptied. But if scraps of meat are put in the bin at the start of the two weeks, and this warm humid weather continues magots appear.

bin is cleaned out every 2 weeks and lined and all rubbish bagged in carrier bags so what a shock to see eeee magots so fly must must have got in will tie bags tighter from now on just rebagged all rubbish and magots in loads of bin liners puy boiling water on all left in bin

there where loads of tiny ones on inside bin lid eeeee hate them all clear now locked safe inside loads of bin bags .hope they stay there till fri when bin emptied no escapies i hope

add a few handfulls of sawdust to the bin, shake it around a bit to dry out the maggots, tip them into a box and give them to an angler grin

doesnt matter how clean u keep your bin they will appear, u cant bag waste food up enough to stop the flys laying the eggs, its natures way of breaking down meat im afraid
