Hi

My Zanussi has just gone past its 5th birthday and today decided it didn't want to fill with water. I've really looked after this machine - cleaned all the bits regularly (filters etc). We've had a look at the filter on the inlet and it isn't blocked. Have checked the water hose - not kinked. The electricity tripped so we are suspecting an electrical fault. And for any one who cares its been flashing it's light once and beeping once - which correlates with the 'machine not filling' error.

Anyone got any ideas, or does anyone know of a good engineer who charges reasonable amounts for repair?

Thanks,
MissG

Missguided, could be worth checking the water pump.

Not sure about the pump - thought that emptied the machine?

Assuming that water enters the machine under pressure with a valve, is there a pump as well on inlet?

Thanks for the idea anyway - will tell Rick - see what he thinks.

Just reading though that the average life of a modern washing machine is 5 years - which sounds about right. Just wonder if the cost of repairing it would be close to the cost of a new one.

get someone to have a look, ask them what the problem is then buy the part yourself and get your fella on the go with a soldering iron wink

It does sound like an electrical fault.
