A pair of Mandarin Ducks have starting visiting my pond in the back garden here in Barnston.

Where else on Wirral do you see these colourful ducks?, originally brought in from China.

There was a pair on Raby Mere for a while and also a pair on the ponds at Frankby Styles (Larton Livery) I'm sure there must be others around too.

Since their release in 1939 from Walcot Hall, Shropshire and every year in the 1950s to 1970 from Eaton Hall, Cheshire it appears they are quite common on any suitable water on the Wirral Peninsula.

Highest numbers seem to appear at Caldy and Arrowe Park but there are recordings at other park lakes as well.
