I noticed that Liverpool Arriva buses have concessions for children in Year 11 who are 16. Why have they not introduced this across in Wirral. It is the same bus operator and Merseytravel cover Liverpool AND Wirral. I know you can buy term time tickets but what about 1-off ones - schoolchildren do travel to events/work experience etc from their schools now and again and parents do have to cover this cost. They are classed as 'adults' at 16, according to Arriva on the Wirral, but 'students' in Liverpool. Anyone know why this is and why Merseytravel/Arrivabus don't do anything about it?

If Councils underwrite such schemes it may be that Wirral have not got the financial means whereas Liverpool has.
