Anyone else starting to be driven potty by the pounding noise in New Brighton?

That's odd - the minute I started this thread it stopped! - Only for three minutes.

They're piledriving for the new Ocean going container base, if you look across the river from the car-park by FPR you will see two platforms and just behind a big crane, it seems the whole area is on the same rock strata, it was noisy yesterday (Fri).

They have managed to drive eight piles in so far
mainly without much noise so presumably softer
ground. The intermittent banging over the last
two days has pushed a couple of "difficult" piles
in, presumably where the rock is harder.

They have said that noise will be limited to daytime
so that those of us living nearby should not be disturbed
too much. Mind you there are a lot more piles to go in!

haven't heard this but i've been out between 8am-6pm at work so i guess i wouldn't.

didn't even know there was some structure being constructed, must go check it out...
