Not exactly Wallasey, but my wife swears by Abakhans by St Caths Hospital in Birkenhead.

There is one next to Lauries in Seaview Road, called MADE.

The Age UK Wirral shop in Liscard centre has new wool I think (if not, the manager can advise which shops do).

I've just learnt how to knit and got lovely wool from Poundstretchers - I think it was £1.99 per ball for a massive one. There is also a stall in Birkenhead market that sells it.

I 2nd the suggestion of Made. Missus uses it and says it's really good!

'Made' Seaveiw Road, have loads of different stuff, from budget to high end designer yarn, also very helpful, otherwise Wilkinsons, B&M and Calico Laine.

I'd also recommend Calico Laine in Liscard. It's a small family run business and the staff there are very helpful.
However if you can wait, on 27th November 6-9pm, Abakhans are having a winter preview where everything is 20% off and loads more bargains.
