We had a question about this sort of thing last year but there was no conclusion. Its a grant from the private sector for various energy efficient boilers, rewires, windows, door, etc offered to all. its NOT the green energy offer thats going around and its NOT the energy saving TRUST
Ive had a leaflet through the door , spoke to a salesman who wasnt hard sell, and he explained it was a fund put together in 2008 , by local big business such as Pilkintons ,Worcester Bosch etc, to offer 'one third off' grants to locals, for having work done by firms chosen by them who use exclusively, products made by those big businesses. The idea is that the big businesses check out and approve the actual installer, the installer has to use the big firms quality products, and so the customer gets piece of mind of having a high quality job for around or maybe a little more, than other installers whom you may or may not trust and who may use inferior products to do the job. 10 yr guarantee.(I need to find out if its underwritten.
All sounds good , but has anyone had any work done via this fund? Im about to do my own research now, but thought Id ask here as well. The Energy Saving Trust, says there are loads of private grant funds set up over the country, so its a matter of finding which are reputable. So - anyone any hard evidence on this particular one?(The phone no is 0808 141 5479 ) www.energysavingfund.net.
