You could try what my Step Daughter did to get funding

She spent 3 months preparing a package/portfolio outlining her project and funding requirements

Made 320 copies

Then mailed it or hand delivered it to 320 bussinesses across the Wirral.

All at her own cost and time.

14 months later she had her money.

Thanks for the tips. The lottery only fund much bigger projects. I thought about sponsorship from a business as it might be a great community thing and tjat the business would then be included in our PR so they'd get a some marketing too. Obviously I would supply more in-depth information to any business that may be interested.
