cab fares in wirral are supposedly going up next week by 20p (that will make a few happy drivers)lol but no doubt they get plenty of abuse about it

Is this just on the Wirral? If it is then it'll probably be cheaper to ring a Liverpool company and pay their tunnel fares!

just hope are private hire firm does not put the fares up it will cripple us,plus that means are settle will go up as well i've been looking for another job now for a month i've just had it up to my back teeth with the overheads
1 settle £102.50 a week
2 insurance £98 a week
3 settle car £90 a week
4 fuel £155 a week
and the two weeks over xmas its £152.50 a week!!!!
so its now friday and i'm still £30 short of there money so will have to work all night to night and saturday and sunday and i might be left with £180,please please don't think taxi driving is easy as its not.be glad you no what your getting at the end of the week

Joeblogs - just what two the two 'settle' costs actually cover?
Posted By: joeblogs Re: cab fares in wirral - 9th Nov 2012 7:26pm
settle one is the hire of the radio from the taxi firm and the other is the car hire if you have not got your own car.so if you have your own car take £100 off, still bad

Perhaps he means 20p per mile increase.

I guess that will be on the minimum fare with other changes as well.If and it is a big if it happens.

Even 20p a mile... it's hardly the end of the world.

20p does not sound much but on a current minimum of £2.80 (for 1st 820 yds)it is about 7% so if other stuff went up by the same % we would not be happy.
