Police van blocking access to Seaview Road by Dukes (the old Welly) lots of police cars in attendance up Seaview Road. I can't get to Asda! Anybody know what's happening?

Update: man knocked off bike, don't know how he is though.

I went by on the bus just after it happened. The bus just about squeezed through on the way up towards ASDA. A cyclist had been knocked over and a couple of cars had stopped. Came back down Seaview Road about 15mins later and Paramedics and Police had arrived. The cyclist was conscious but in a neck brace. There was quite a bit of blood on the road so may not have been wearing a helmet. Hope he/she will be ok.

It was my sister not a man who was knocked off her bike just after shopping in Asda. She is in the Royal Liverpool, just back from seeing her.She is not too bad but badly cut and bruised and cannot remember a thing about it.We are hoping they will keep her in at least overnight but that looks unlikely.

Glad to hear she's not bad, Salmon. Hope she's able to get back on her bike soon.

Surely she should be kept in overnight even if only for observation.

Thanks for the thought and just heard that they are now going to keep her in overnight which we are all (apart from her) glad to hear.I doubt she will be riding her bike for a little while though.

Why not Arrowe Park?

Apparently if a person is involved in an accident and certain signs are present (don't ask me what) then the person has to go to the nearest trauma unit which in this case is the Royal. The bad news is the medics think she may have a broken pelvic bone, not good news at all.
