The mechanism is not working. You turn the disc and the plug is supposed to go up or down depending which way turned.Nothing happens when turned so have to get plug out with scissors. Have sprayed mechanism with WD40 and will check later. This worked before but not today. Does any Wikki member have advice to try and solve this problem? Thanks.
Sounds like the mechanism has become detached, i.e. screwed apart which means getting behind the sink and reattaching if possible or else a new one.
I'll go with what salmon has to say on the matter.
Sorry Paxvo, but I must say it's a good job it wasn't the ' big toe stuck in the tap' routine.
I wonder what advice would have been given then!

Silly me! I found on the detached top bit that it had a screw thing that could make the connection bigger or smaller, so after fiddling it to get it right for the mechanism to rise and fall the plug is now working. must come loose from time to time. Thanks for your replies.
