I was recently reading that the average household uses about 18,000kw a year in electricity.

I also read that al gores mansion uses approx 220,000kw a year.

after checking my online bill , in the last year i have used 140,000kw, how can this be?

does anyone else know what there usage was for the last year at all? just for a bit of a comparison? I am in a 3 bed house which is pretty small and 2 people living here.

thanks

I've only my last quarter's bill to hand (Apr-Jul) which was 1375kw used.

Soooo... I guess at double that for a winter quarter. Therefore 2 "cheap" (hahahaha) quarters plus 2 expensive quarters:-

In my case, that works out at.. 1375 + 1375 + 2750 + 2750 = Total 8250kw (ish) per year

3 bed bungalow. All electric. Night storage heating. VERY exposed place 725'ASL. (Really cool in winter). Single occupant.

Maybe not a direct comparison, but it will give you a guide. A few more folk needed to chime in to give a clearer picture maybe.
