Just received this skypix TSN410

It is quite fast and can be carried about wherever you are to do a quick scan in 300,600 or 900dpi
runs off batteries

Should have mentioned it came with a cd that had ABBYY Finereader Sprint 9.0 program on it.
This program can take text off a picture (eg a page in a book)and
produces it as a excel document.Not tried the word or pdf conversion

I'm tempted. Looks like you can scan text then add to or change in a word document.
