What's left of the Victorian Slipway of S Bond and Son's Boatyard Rock Ferry. The yard was situated behind the old Admiral pub now the Refreshment Rooms.

Description: slipway

Brilliant ! Thanks for this. Cammell lairds got all the publicity over the years but the importance
of Bond,s boatyard seems to have been overlooked. They always built wooden hulled vessels of
fine quality . This bay is the original site of The Rock Ferry, I believe, from which the whole area
got it,s name.

Here's the location from the 1911 O.S. map.
Unfortunately the edge of two sheets runs through the site so I've had to do my poor best at combining them.
Use Ctrl +/- to enlarge and reduce; the resolution is quite decent.
