I've got this photo and bugger me if I can place it. Anyone know?
Looks like Grange Rd West to me
I've been looking at it for ages and that was where I thought, especially with the Halifax on the right.
It looks like the Little Theatre on the very left of the pic.
I've just pulled up some old pictures of it and the shapes seem about right, there is just the very edge of the chimney stack of the property next door to it in one, the brickwork around the lip looks right too.
?
Definitely Grange Rd West, its had a few tweaks over the years though.
Yes, Grange Rd. West, but the building on the left is the Presbyterian Church which later became the Little Theatre.
hi, its grange road west i worked in beno dorns tailors which was on the left on the corner in the 80,s which is now the deaf aid centre.
Nice one guys, I'll change it
Ha, can't change it. Can one of the mods do it?
Changed first & last, Pablo. I thought it would change them all, but no. Can't be ar**d to do them all.
All changed - Chris, you do it from 'Manage Topic' after changing the first one.
Thanks, uptoncx. I'm always afraid of cocking the whole thing up.
I remember a shop called Pollocks in Grange rd west which sold prams, and as kids we used to like to like climb up and change the P to a B. Happy days.
think you will find that Pollocks was in Oxton Road, not grange road west
12 Oxton Road to be precise (almost opposite Rostances). The frontage was baby blue and pink. They also had branches at Wallasey Rd, Wallasey and Renshaw St, Liverpool.
What year was Pollocks in Oxton rd, I am talking about 1939 or 40 when Grange rd west was posh, after it deteriorated a lot of shops moved or closed. It was on a corner of a street that led down to Claughton rd. It was in its day a posh shopping centre and it was nothing to see chauffeur driven cars taking people shopping.
