They were the days i hanged round there by john Menzies under the little subway thing that was there... Were the walk way is in the pic is were Wilkinsons is now.

I remember the kids playground too! That is, I remember I got blisters on my hands trying to get along the monkey bars (horizontal ladder thingy?) and my Granddad took me back to his house nearby and put talc on the blisters. Can't remember if it helped or not...

I don't think Debbie minds too much. She be pleased people are enjoying her pics.

I worked in Baxters butchers next to the carpet shop (just see it to the right of tescos in first pic) Then over the way was Dewhurst which is the shop i ended up managing when Dewhurst bought Baxters out later!!
Spent half my life in that precinct!!
Halfords at the Bottom corner, fancied the bird in there!!
Only so many car fuses you can buy when you ride a bike!!! LOL
