Dnno if this has been posted before, but in reference to Ghostly1's thread about Stanlow Abbey, there was a site linked from the Wikipedia article, called Old-Maps.co.uk, and it seems very good.

Im guessing, it may be of interest to us folk on here?

Also handy if anyone likes looking at old maps. Of Cheshire at least. I use old-maps a lot, it's good to try and get an overlay to see how things have changed, dislike the watermarking but I guess it's an essential evil!

My apologies if this has been posted before,if not then this is an excellent link for old maps.Easy to use.Just enter the postcode for the area you want to research.

Excellent post there Dava. I now have the right bearing for where the The Hotel Victoria Stood. Which was own by a member on my mum side of the family.
