Just found these on youtube, thought i`d post them here as i think you will find them very interesting.

In 1980's Around the UK Unemployment was at its worsed percentage this program looks at a Street which tried its best to get by.. This is also a good look back at birkenhead back in its day.. part1... remember tees street birkenhead? Well everyone who lived in this street was unemployed, Granada done a documentry on this in the eightys, here it is....

Wow some really great finds there fella, keept me busy for the last hour or so watching em lol!!

The unmeployment video is great, on YouTube is says basically that apparently the street was demolished probably because of the bad publicity generated by the documentary. But the problems didnt end, they were just moved to another street, albeit in the same area.

Lol, i`m working security in a garage at the mo, this has kept me entertained, heres another unemployment video with more shots of birkenhead, this one is a better one than the last.

This is a Program from Granada back in the 80's.(world in action) This program is about Unemployment back in the 80's its focused on Birkenhead my home town as Unemployment was quite bad back then.. Some people on the video might be known to locals of birkenhead and some people might appriciate the Back in the day.

Yeah, ive just watched that second video on the unemployment, it is a bit better, its a lot more hard hitting, and shows how well off we are nowadays.

Lol, the old world in action tune at the end I havent heard that for yonks lol grin

Thanks totopop smile ive got more comming 1940s - 1950s and 1960s - 1970s wirral ive just goto find time to Convert the VHS tapes ive got and make em 10minute clips for YouTube smile im also in the process of Doing my own History commentary on different places of intrest and giving my points of few of what to expect when you visit the likes of Birkenhead Pirory, Bidston Hill and so on but untill i get around to doing it these will have to do for the time being smile again thanks for the intrest smile
