I was watching a film tother day with Patrick Swayze, and realised that Ghost has to be one of the saddest films ever put on te big screen. So my Top three are...
1). Ghost 2). Empire of the sun 3). Land before time I
Nah....Theyre sad films in other peoples eyes....but the only film that gets me (Ive never cried, just lump in throat) is the ending to Empire of the Sun, when he meets up with his parents again after the war is over. Its not really a sad moment, more happy...but still gives me a lump in my throat, hat could choke a donkey.
One you probably don't know (because you're mostly too young). The Pawnbroker: 1960's, directed by Sidney Lumet & starring Rod Steiger. Watch it if you ever get the chance.
ahh its the bit in titanic were she is telling the kids a story an the cabin is filling with water... an the old man and woman cuddling on the bed shaking too waaaaaaahhh!
Lump in throat films: The Abyss American History X ET Jerry Maguire Pay It Forward The Shawshank Redemption
Surprise tears films: Saving Private Ryan Schindler's List Star Wars Return of the Jedi (updated) (when Anakin appeared at the end with yoda and obi wan)
Films that really made me cry because I didn't get them: AI
Films that left me emotionally disturbed: Backdraft Jacob's Ladder Pan's Labyrinth
I watched that when I was younger and my bottom lip was going. So many rabbit deaths, and the bit where he died at the end and turned into a ghost. It's not a kid's film really.
I seen this about 15 years ago, and its about a Terminally ill woman who by law had to be kept alive as her body wasted away around her. It was based in the states.
In the end it was a nurse who gave the lady the dignity she deserved and helped her husband get the drugs and set up to let her die at home with family and friends.
It was a True Storey also.
Ive never seen it listed on a shelf nor on the TV ? Probably the same storey under a difrent name as they revamp it again and again i guess.
