WTF might have been more appropriate. Just stepped out into garden and thought a helicopter was about to crash or try and land in park. Heard it go round again and then saw a very low flying second world war plane--bomber. Scared the proverbial.. Presume there must be a show on somewhere. Looked a bit small for a Lancaster but that sort of shape

Bugger---just came over again above the back garden--couldn't get camera out fast enough as it circled and went back to southport. Must have dropped its payload over Birkenhead!

Probably the same as the Brits when they sent their Fokkers to get us

By chance Granny I have a definitive answer to your question
An old gentlemen who lives opposite was 93 and was a bomber or pilot on board Lancaster bombers during the war. It was a fly over his house in recognition of his services.
Nice touch.

Saw it flying overhead in whilst I was in Sainsbury's car park. I assumed it was a bombing run on their crisps aisle which is far too powerful in my opinion, but alas it wasn't. An inspiring sight none the less to see it so low, but no more so than were it to have been a modern commercial airliner. I think it is about time we stopped fighting WW2.
