Hope my exhaust didn't cause that.

Surprised it wasn't the end one, it's been derelict for years.

That's shocking news ..glad to read the building was derelict and there hasn't been any casualties ,wouldn't like to live in any of the properties to the left or right of the collapsed building !!! Shocking

Yep, Davy used to squat in that one.

Thanks for that Mark. The end one has been showing signs of collapse for several years and was bowing badly - but nothing was done about it. Did it fall or was it pushed?

Amazing that nobody was hurt.

... and then luxury apartments get built on it!

I'm sure WBC wait until they are so completely delapidated and either fall down or get burnt out so they can sell the land to developers.

Good Lord! Hope there were no squatters in either.

Apparently the Council are saying they inspected the properties only days before - however it was a security inspection not a structural one - and that everything was fine!

A very poor attempt at spin yet once again.

I hope the council come up with some good answers. Like who inspected the structure and when. What other derelict buildings in the area will now be more closely inspected

Someone must have banged the door shut !

Rock on Granny!

In the meantime people living in the blocked off street whilst removal of the rubble takes place are, inevitably, suffering the noise and dust, total road blockage of the operation. Bins have not been emptied - would it really have hurt to run a few bins down to the main road via the footpath available given the nature of the problem? Life goes on.

The thing is ,no one will take financial responsibility for the cost of running or knocking down old disused buildings.
No one cares. They usually get burned or squatted in.
Someone said luxury apartments will be put there. King st aint luxury its the arse end of wallasey. I know wallasey well its gone downhill big time in the last 20 years.
