I was at a train station just now as the response team arrived responding to a group of lads having a bit of a laugh. Teasing the guard on a leaving train.

There were about 6 youths no more than 15yrs of age really just mucking around. A few other members of the public were on the same platform waiting for a train and the youths were not interacting with anyone else.

There was a young couple standing minding there own business waiting for the train when the next thing one of the response team asked if they had tickets and because they were similar age as the group they were asked to leave the station. They protested and were still told to leave the station.

At this point I was ready to shout across to the man from the response team informing him they had only been waiting for the next train and nothing to do with the complaint, when a man on there side of the platform spoke up saying as I was going to say.

The lads left the station and No Apology to the couple waiting for the train at all. The whole incident was peaceful no arguments with the lads and they left when asked.

But I my opinion Merseyrail Responce your guys setiously have the wrong attitude. When you get it wrong apologise. We are paying customers of yours not pawns to be bullied out of the station for no reason.

Birkenhead North 9pm west kirby side.
If your guys are quick enough to judge then so can I.

End of rant.

power corrupts!. I suppose these guys get bored doing nothing all day and then when the sniff of an opportunity arises--common sense goes out the window.

Much easier to bully a quiet couple (or guard) - they're no better than the scally lads

they're getting to be a law unto themselves. I know of another incident where they fabricated a case against someone who complained to the management about their handling of a situation. A shower of barstewards in my opinion.

When on the Merseyrail electrics earlier this year, the squad were roaming through the cars. All outwardly polite, BUT thugs in uniform would best describe their general looks and demeanor I think. Maybe a requirement of the job to look "hard" ?

I'm back down in early October and no doubt on the system again, so we'll see what characters they are employing then.
