Any keen cyclists out there who can recommend a good buy, got about £120 for a new bike, mainly bomb up and down the prom

I'd recommend talking to the guys at the below shop. They're all really helpful and knowledgeable and were really ind when my chain guard broke.

As above Rock Cycles are highly recommended....... But..... If you get down to Halfords they've got the end of season clearance on at the moment getting rid of the last of this years models ready for release of the new models so there are some good deals to be had.

honestly: £120 won't get you much quality if you're buying new. If you considered buying a pre-owned bike you could get more for your £120

Off the Rock are great lads, also if you can, head over to Evans Cycles in Liverpool and ask them too, also great guys in there too.

Hi ambersmum, I am selling this one if you would like to try with no obligation, it says man's but it is unisex hence the low cross bar. https://www.wikiwirral.co.uk/forums...le_Mountain_Bike_Full_Su.html#Post899082

Forget evans its a chain, support you local bike shops and they will support you.

Plus the prom is not for bombing along but thats for a separate thread.

Pace

Leasowe community centre are doing free hire bikes as well if you fancy bombing off a mate.

Chain yes, but Halfords has already been mentioned previously and Evans are specialists in bikes and only hire people who are enthusiastic about bikes, not "jack of all trades & masters of f**k" all like halfords do.

Evans do some great stuff, and their choice is much bigger than OTR's but it's up to TS what they want to do.

Birkenhead Cycles is also somewhere you could go and ask a few questions, but again £120 in there won't get you very far.

Check out Cash Convertors they seem to do some nice second hand bikes at a good price.
