Just came back from holidays and found the central heating not working. I don't know if there is a switch anywhere that I may have knocked accidentally. The hot water is working and the timer is alright. There was nothing wrong with the heating before I left. Any ideas anyone?

If its a combi boiler it may be the diverter valve.

I had a similar problem recently, but I had heating and no hot water...

Are people using the heating already?

If you have knocked a switch, it could be the water only/ ch/ water switch.

A miracle has happened. The heating came on over the weekend. Nothing was touched and it was getting closer to bringing in the fixer person. Wonder if there may have been an airlock as the heaters were 'bled' before switching them off. Mmmm.

Id get it checked out to be honest to heck the boiler is working. Last thing you want is it breaking down during the winter.

Had a work mate years ago who only had one tooth in his mouth, right in the middle on the bottom, they called him central eating, some called him Juanita.

Yer it has gone pretty cold lately, I turned the underfloor heating on a few weeks ago, but had it off lately. It will be going on again in the next few weeks methinks!

We're deffo entering autumn now! We will be waking up to frozen mornings soon! Ah the joys!

I'm not an engineer but it was amazing that I could feel the heat starting to come through in the radiator as the water started to run out of the thing bit at the side of the heater.
Just in time for the Swine Flu. Coincidentally.
