A big ask but you never know - has anyone got one of those machines that put holes in the grass that I could borrow? I'd be ever so grateful

you might want to rake all the dead grass out first its called thatch you will get bags of it. you can get a lawn thatcher makes it easy. to put holes in your grass its better to use a garden fork spike lawn every 6 inches hard work but your lawn will look great.

Now look 'ere you lot. I'm trying to do this with as little effort as possible and you lot keeping having these stupid bright ideas.

Right - so who wants to come to a lawn forking party - I said FORKING

Its hard work it really is.

If you use the aerator you should fill the holes with
sand to aid drainage. I'm assuming the need for this
is because your lawn suffers from poor drainage?

The only other reason really on a utility lawn if the
kids have been playing in on area and its turned to
hard mud like under a swing.

Also using the Aerator you have to pick up all the daft
pipes of mud it pushes out.

Back Breaking work does it really need doing?

or you can get some lawn shoes and walk round garden all day.

Or I can just leave it and hope that we have a dry spring / summer.
It felt like a good at the time but I'm going off the idea very quickley!
