thanks for replying gibbo but id just got back from tescos moments after your post, i have bought the sagemcom and for a non techy i found it easy to set up so im over one hurdle ha
fingers crossed it does what it says on the box, time will tell but i still cant believe after paying £129 i cant set a reminder for my tv progs on my old box i used to set reminders and record for a weeks worth of progs all in one go!

Is this what you mean?. I`m not a TV person really, so it must be 25 years or more since I recorded anything.
