I have a problem here i sold a member on here my sons iphone 4s he said there was a problem with it so i dropped the price and am still waiting for him to collect the money.
the problem is i sold him the phone a moth ago and he has now messaged me saying he put the phone on charge and it is flat not sure what the problem can be as it worked perfect here
any ideas please
Sold as seen with no guarantees.
Failure to charge could be anything from a broken charger or cracked lead up to it being dropped in the bath and has just been dried out.
Without looking it would be purely guesswork, legally you have no responsibility whatsoever, morally maybe a little, so just ask to check it, see if you can find out the problem for them.
Choice is entirely yours.
thw leads always break, i have even had a charger blow up.
another thing to check is the connection terminal at the bottom of the phone, these can get very dusty so a good clean with some electrical contact cleaner and a toothbrush helps.
morally i have told him to bring it back and get his money back.
Thedr am sure i will see you at some point with the phone this week
If/when you call in mention Wiki and get them to write it on the receipt so I know who it is, I'll try and sort it for you, best price possible.
Thedr i have the phone back i have charged it on docking station and there seems to be nothing wrong with it so far will see how it is 2morro and any problems will bring it to you.
prob just a charging lead problem, happens all the time, especally with the after market leads, they don't last long at all.
kev
update on iphone 4s.
It was still under guarantee so i took it to the apple shop and they opened it up very easily too easy the man said.surprise surprise the inside of the phone has nothing holding it in place all the screws are missing and there should be a cover over something forget what he said, it also has some water damage.
And as the phone has clearly been tampered with it is going to cost me to put right.
Morally i did the right thing taking the phone back but wont do that again if i ever sell it again that is.
Thanks for all your help on here much appreciated
dare one ask who the buyer was
not sure i can put it on here as he is a member
You got a rough deal there, Zelda. As long as you're 100% sure it was fine when it left you, name the buyer.
Is it now working or do you need a screw set fitting to keep everything in place ?
There are a couple of "covers/shields" in the back that need to be removed when you work on the phone, but anyone half competent would put them back in afterwards.
If you look down the earphone socket (and in the middle of the charging socket) it has water sensitive paper that turns pink (it's normally white) when exposed to moisture (this voids any warranty from Apple), there are also a couple inside, but you have to open the phone to see these, which also voids your warranty if they can tell it has been done.
It has not been fixed as yet no.debating on the cost.
i have emailed markee about all this but he has not replied to my emails or inboxes.
think i have learnt my lesson here. I felt bad as he said it was for his 10 year old son so morally i had to take it back as i would feel terrible but know i feel like i got the shitty end of the stick so to speak.
oh well such is life onwards and upwards so to speak
it needs screws and they have also said a new battery and some other stuff was too mad to listen as soon as he showed me the screws were missing
aww bless there are still some nice good people in this world thank you so much Thedr

i understand what you are saying there admin but i have now found out am not the only one this has happened to.
perhaps we should have a page for people to avoid buying and selling too.
not fair when this person has done it to so many others here.
and he can now freely continue to do this.
am just happy that thedr has agreed to take the phone
