I am tryimg to use a Brother DC130P printer with my laptop
When I try to print a document the printer shows as being offline
Can anyone please explain to me how I can change it to online
Many thanks
Very often a simple reboot of your laptop will sort this as long as the printer is switched on of course. Re booting may force the laptop to recognize the printer. Otherwise it is worth going into control panel>devices and printers and check it out there.
Hi Salmon
Many thanks for your response
I have tried both these options, also tried to sort it through the properties section of the printer, sadly all to no avail
Have you tried updating the driver ?
It will show off line if all your connections are not in place.
Try checking all the cables.
Should have added if you are using a usb cable make sure that that is shown on manager.
thank you both
The laptop is a second connection for the printer it has been set up cableless, dont really understand that..the actuial printer is connected to a pc with windows xp..the laptop is windows 7...it works fine off the pc but shows offline on the laptop even though it is the designated printer
Sounds like a compatibility issue between win 7, xp and the printer.
Sorry it needs somebody who knows about these things to chip in and help you out.
Have you looked here?
