Does anyone had a sata laptop hard drive enclosure I could borrow for a few days. Got the police virus so rolled it back to last good configuration and now every time it tries to boot up it blue screens so I want to extract a couple of files, virus check it and hen if all else fails reset to factory, but the hard drive enclosure I have is an IDE one.
Have you tried to boot up in safe mode ?
Thats if your running windows ?
Drop me a pm with your number.
I have a usb to IDE but we may be able to sort something out.
Yeah can't get into safe mode or command prompt. It's got me baffled. Cheers mark shall do this evening.
That police virus is a pain in the backside.
One of the Nasty ones introducing a new category
We know of Spyware
We know of Mallware
and now
Ransom Ware !
Your system is locked out and presented with a webpage asking for money. It looks real but its not.
Its safe mode safe also. And can lock out copied files.I found this information about the virus.

How about a Live version of Linux on a USB stick or CD-ROM.
That way it will boot into Linux and allow you to access your drive to get your files and no need to mess around taking drives out.
I was thinking that. But this virus can all locks to files.
Its a route worth trying.

Its a phising warning.
No problems viewing it on O2 with Antivirus Software Running and Malware Running. Although i do have anti phising turned off.
Yes the Virus has caused fraud, but its another thing knowing about it and wanting to know how to get rid of it.
Thanks for sharing that Derek as others may come across the same.
