If he paid on his credit card it may be possible to claim a new one from the credit card company.

Hi, are you sure it's not av100? Anyway, sounds terminal to me.

Defo av10 know it is probably terminal but since camera is brand new ie only taken 1 picture thought it might be worth a shot at or if someone had one for spares .

I dropped my Canon PS SX200IS a few years ago and the lens stayed out and would not retract kept getting lens error message on the LCD Screen.

A quick Internet search revealed a site with 3 options to fix it, the fixes range from mild to severe (total last resort) for me the first 2 failed so it all pinned on the last one which was basically start gently tapping the lens against a wall after several taps getting stronger each time, the lens retracted
I got another year out of it.

He's a link to a sites with some answers for Fuji Bent Len's Fixes

If the answers recommend the above USE AS A LAST RESORT

As a new one is £45 on Amazon.co.uk a repair will likely cost more than a new camera frown

sorted decided nothing to loose so took it apart released pressure on lens and it clicked back in to place .
happy days saved £50 .
many thanks for the input !

Good news glad you got it sorted...

As I said you had nothing to loose.
