I have office 2003 on my laptop, I have managed to find this http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/templates/desktop-vehicle-maintenance-TC010238207.aspx that I have downloaded but its for access 2007 is there any way i can use it with access 2003.

There use to be one of these for 2003, but i can not find it.

If its not possable, then i will have to build my own

Normally you can download this in 2007/2010 and then "save as" a version that 2003 that see/read, for this file there doesn't appear to be that option though (just downloaded it and tried).

There are compatibility options for every Office program, except Access, so it may well be that you are stuck with building your own, OR, download a trial version of Office 2007/2010, and use the 30/60/90 days that you have it for to copy the cell structure of the database (I had a look, it's a VERY simple file) and put it into a 2003 version.

Load any version of Office 2007/2010 even 2012 you can find, don't enter a Product Key when installing and it will give you a trial period.

Hi Dr, on the subject of product key, my (2nd hand) laptop is asking for this when I use Microft Office. I know Office was pre-installed on the laptop. I have all the stuff that came with it (user manual, warranty and all barcodes, item numbers etc from the box) but can't find the 25 digit product code it's asking for.

Do you have any advice please?

YGM, it can't be downgraded because it uses features not in 2k3. But the DB I sent you can be opened in Open Office. How sucessful it will be depends on how well Open Office can emulate Access' features.

I'll have a look and see if I can remove the 2k7 specific features from the database. It might break it though.

YGM again. Removed the attachments that were causing the problems, its now properly converted to msaccess 2k3.

It should work OK as the attachments were access to car images only, nothing data wise from what I could tell.

Let me know how you get on wink
