hi i am trying to turn on my sony viao laptop but am just getting a blank screen please help it has been working fine all day

can you hear the fans spin up ?
can you see a hard drive light flash if its booting up.

last of all.
if its a laptop open lid fully and close it.

any usb devices connected to it?
if so unplug them and see if that helps.

Mine did this last year and its still not working, ended up buying a new one... Would love to know how to fix it myself though....
