Ive got mine set up now, playing 720p and 1080p movies.

I have about 150 movies on disk that ive ripped from DVD. What are the legalities of keeping these files if I already own the DVD?

You are allowed to do a back up of media, for your own use.

so it becomes illegal if I sell the original DVD?

Technically, I think you are surpose to destroy the back up copy if you sell original.

I don't think you will find many homes that don't have copied dvds or music.

I think that is a disgraceful thing to say. I have a DVD of the copyright Laws and I will send you a copy to clear up the confusion !!!
