hi all i have a sony vaio laptop and my keyboard is a bit backward the @ key is in the wrong place and i haven't got a pound sign key as well as a few other problems what can i do to fix this. It didn't really didn't bother me until now because i'm trying to make a new menu for my girlfreinds cafe and i obviously need the pound sign. Cheers in advance guys.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Language And Keyboard. In there is a keyboard setting that will be set to ENG US, (English USA). Change that to ENG UK, and remove the ENG US option. This will be fully removed when you next reboot, leaving you with just the English UK setting on the keyboard, and allowing it to work as it should. smile

It happens all the time when people leave the keyboard in its default setting, which is US, simply changing it to UK and rebooting (as described above) sorts it out.
Amazing how many people just put up with it for years.
