hi guys, wondering if anyone can help...

bought an ipod touch 3G (32GB) off ebay and was impressed when i received it as the screen/digitiser was pristine and had zero marks or scratches and the back only had a few very light scratches, there is a problem, the battery is kack.

i'll charge it fully at breakfast time (8:30am ish) and it'll be pretty much dead when it comes to bed-time (11:00pm ish) checked the guideline on the apple website and it says it should last about 40 hours of continuous play, mine wouldn't last 40 hours on standby!!!

so i need a new battery i think... anyone know where would be the best (cheapest AND quickest) place to get one done.

i know you can get them for about a fiver on ebay for a new one (3rd party probably but not too bothered to be honest) and i can imagine it wouldn't be TOO hard to do myself, i just don't trust myself to do it...

so where's best??? starlight?? or can anyone reccomend anyone else??

thanks!

Switch your 3G, bluetooth and "Location Services" OFF

Always hit the top button when you aren't using it.

Turning screen brightness down and switch auto-adjust off.

Probably best to switch wireless off when your not using it, especially if you are in range of a marginal wireless signal (I don't switch this off generally).

Try not to tuck it in a trouser pocket, if it maintains a good mobile signal connection there is a lot less battery drain on renegotiating a cell connection.

Batteries are not good on these things, one day is about the norm and not even that if you dare use it.

I'd approach TheDr at Bigabyte if I really wanted someone to fit a battery.

40 hours is only achievable if it maintains a good signal and stays in the same cell and has no usage and at 25 degrees centigrade etc etc etc.

I think you'll struggle turning off 3G on an iPod Touch in all honesty and it won't be connecting to any cells.

Batteries can be replaced, it's easier that you would imagine, but it'll invalidate any warranty.

bluetooth and location services are off, i do lock it when not in use anyway, wireless is only on when i'm indoors, i turn it off when i go out, and if i'm not meant to put it in my pocket, where do i keep it??? and by 3G i didn't mean it had 3G capabilities, just that it's the 3rd gen one.
