Hi,

Sister has got herself a webcam and downloaded skype in the hope that she can talk to her grandson who is in the Royal Navy out in nasty land. She did make contact the other night but he couldn't see her although she could see him.

Just tried it with mine and again she could see me but not vice versa. At her end she can see herself okay. Personally I don't bother with these things so haven't a clue. Ideas anyone?

sounds like her webcam isn't either installed fully

if it is

then go on skype
tools
options
video settings
then select webcam at the top
then at the bottom right it'll have an option for "show that i have video to" and pick "people in my contact list"
then save.

that should do it

if not then let me know and i'll give you some other options, but they should work

smile

make sure she's got the right driver selected in Tools, Options.
Just skyped for the first time myself and had bother with the incoming sound until I sussed it out, had the wrong speaker set up selected. There's always a reason, it's just tracking it down that is the pain.
