Tell me I'm not the only one! Lol :-)

Posted By: Upasaka Re: Retro Gamers - 13th Mar 2012 2:20pm
I started off with the emulators, then progressed to collecting the machines and games. I enjoy emulators, as it gives me a chance to try the games before I buy them :-)

Spacey coffeee table screen is sunk into middle of table with glass top (Old man's, again from the 70's)
Comodore 64
Master System (original shape with super hang on on a credit card sied cart
Mega Drive , sonic, golden Axe, streets of rage, 30 odd games including some American ones that you had to play through game genie style add on cart
Atari Jag (Sold as was shi* and not true 64 bit but two 32 bits in parallel)
Snes
Game Cube
N64
Saturn - Sold to cash converters as was cack, only decent game was virua fighter
DreamCast
Panasonic & Goldstar 3DO (with Road Rash and original nfs - amazing)
PS1
2
3
Nintendo 3ds
Nintendo Wii
Orinal Gameboy (grey with purple action buttons) Tetris and original mario
xbox - sold ages ago
XBOX 360 - GAVE AWAY AS IT RROD me, ended up getting a ps3 in end

Pretty much had em all as a littlin grwing up, My uncle was big into gaming so i used to get all his hand me downs starting with the master system complete with SHO, Wonderboy, and space harrier

Like to muck about with Mame also but emulations tend to get on my wick a little bit, cracking for some of the old arcade game like the simpsons (getting rerleased on PS3,XBOx btw) and all the old game gear and snk games from the late 80's early 90's

I didn't realise how sad I was with gaming until I took the time to list the stuff accumulated over the years, no wonder my Mum keeps hassling me to go and clear all my crap out of the loft smile

Loving IPAD at the moment to be fair as there are a lot of decent games about and the graphics are decent.

Used to do a lot of PC gaming a few years back when i was a bench engineer started out with a standard Alienware desktop and ended up moddfying the sh*t out of it, ended up turning it into a test bed after the liquid cooling starting playing up and then never really bothered getting back into it with the advent of PSN's and xbox online. Strangley enough i'm off to sense check a customers self build tonight, he's put about £700 so far so must be decent spec, will get some pics up later.
Posted By: Nelzy84 Re: Retro Gamers - 14th Mar 2012 6:53pm
Sorry Image isn't great was taken on my BB

One for all you PC nerds though, Was a good spec as expected

£250 Nvidia / asus graphics card, intel quad core, gigabyte board, 8GB RAM, all on cooler master cooling spent closer to £900 but self built, PC Sharks would be looking at £1200 for something like that.

And yes, i told him to tidy the cables up haha

Hi nik (ChildOfLucifer) big wave to you.. Like your hobby... Back when i was a teen i had hudereads of consoles/old computers.. But there was on favourite. The BBC Micro. I love this machine. Still do. I have one at home in the uk hopefully my family have kept it and stashed it away in the loft.. But i still relive my old classics as i have BEEBEM installed on my laptop and i also have an Android BBC Emulator installed on my phone. Yes i still get to play my beloved beeb games on my phone.. Chuckie Egg.. Etc etc.. Its amazing how technology has evolved.. The fact i can get a huge computer (BBC Micro) on to a smartphone is crazy but it still alows me to enjoy the hobby i love. Retro Gaming.. smile
