Please can someone give me advice, am pulling my hair out.

I have a desktop running Vista, & Laptop running Win7.

Am trying to network them, On the desktop I have shared all folders, I can access them on my laptop, but it will not let me save and alterations to files, it says read only, also it will not let me drag folders from laptop to desktop folder, it says i need permission, i have been all through settings on desktop, and gave my self full control, but still does not work.

Go to Advanced Sharing Settings ( network and Sharing Center top left win 7)
There is extra settings like turn off passwords for sharing.

1st reboot
2nd Is it only 1 that can not save changes (win or vista machine).

Give Everyone Full Control !
For Testing.

I can't save changes using win7 to access vista pc, I have given full control, but it just don't want to play ball.

Right click Properties
Sharing (tab)

Click Share

win7
You will be presented with your user name + Administrator in the list.
Above you will see "ADD" but no names click on the drop list.
In the Drop list select EVERYONE then Add that person.

I dont know if vista behaves the same.
