I am receiving lots and lots of emails from a wiki member, with links in email asking me to click.

I have asked this person to remove my email address from there address book, they say they have.

Am still getting them, about 30 a day, its from a ntl email address, can i report it to any one

Are you 100% certain that they have not removed your address and that they are behind the mails?
If you are then I would think that the most effective deterrent would be to name & shame

They told me they removed my email address. So I dont know if they have or not, am just sick of the emails.

If they continue then I will name & shame them, and then people can make sure they never give there email address to this person.

I may get banned for nameing, so I shall wait for Mark to come along and tell me, weather I can or not.

You could force them straight into your spam or deleted folder.

tried that, they just keep coming into my inbox

Sounds like it could be a virus or spam then and the person is not actually sending them at all

is it the same message everytime or do they change it? coz if it changes then their aware of what their doing so id name and shame i dont think you'd get a ban, surely your post would just be edited

I had a similar thing a couple of weeks ago except I was the culprit. I was (unknowingly)sending spam out ot people. When I looked into it, it wasn't my Outlook account that was being spammed but the Yahoo webmail contact list. I keep some addresses in there for use when I'm not on my laptop. It sounds like this could be similar. If the person is using outlook then they need to clear out the contents of their web mail contacts - that seems to have have stopped mine

No doubt about that, the account has been hacked.

I had big problems with mine being hacked, they told me to change my password.

I was unaware I was sending Viagra and penis enlarging emails the other month to everyone on my email list raftl plus my password and other details had been changed. was getting phone calls of mates asking if I was trying to tell them something raftl
I sent my email provider a email and they said I had been hacked and they will shut down the account, and I had to open a new one. It was a pain changing my email on all sites I used that account for but all sorted now. smile

My yahoo account was hacked a couple of years back - everyone in my address book was recieving up to a hundred spam mails a day for all the usual 'medical aids' etc , a change of password was all it took to cure it .

I'm pretty sure in this case mentioned that their account has not been hacked. Its VERY easy to make emails appear to come from any email address you want (if you don't believe me - send me an email and I'll return an email from YOUR address), I use this facility all the time instead of pratting around with different smtp's for my different email addresses.

I did a track on the source of one of the emails mentioned and it originated in Mexico via a known bot isp (cablevision red located in Aguascalientes) and uses gmail to proliferate. The email hasn't originated from an Ntl/Virgin account.

Anybody's email can be spoofed, I've had it happen a few times, you get loads of error reports back from emails you haven't sent. Usually lasts up to 2 weeks before the ISP or smtp account gets blacklisted.
