Now I have just brought this program, Outstanding value at £40!!

Now this is a full legal version and came on three disks

Now disk one was the office program - sorted

But disk two is "Business Contact Manager"

and disk three is "Lync 2010"

Now in simple speak could someone tell me what these programs are used for?

The first disc is all standard software like word etc outlook for e-mail.

The Business Contact Manager is used by people who run a business for example who want to track all their customers and interactions with them etc. Unless you have/want business contacts and to track activity with them, it doesn't have to be installed.

Lync is communication software voice, video and conferencing if you have a server rather than a pc. Again doesn't have to be installed.

Great price though and brillian as you get all the standard software aswell.

Business contact manager is shit, a crm designed for sales people. You won't use it in the real world, will slow your computer down loads as it needs to run sql server

Thankyou for the prompt help

Just had a fresh install on laptop, those two programs will not be installed.

So its business software but the disks are printed with "Licensed for use by students and faculty"? lol

Some students would be advised to install it for classes I guess, depends what they were studying. Business Management for example does make use of those sorts of programs, teacher sits at the front of class on a projector and the students copy on their lappies. Generally there's more accepted programs that do the same thing made by vendors that specialise in those kinds of programs, where M$ will develop and sell everything that could possibly get them a sale, no matter how kludgy the app is.
