Where can I get the laser in my sons' x-box replaced? Also how much does it cost?
Many Thanks
Ridiculous. Surely it would be more cost efficient to buy a drive and fit it yourself?
Which Xbox is it son?

There's more than 1 X-Box?? who knew? I'll have to check it out.
As for fixing it myself DIY in our house is Destroy It Yourself.
Of its the old Xbox 360 they are easy mate, just buy another drive and swap it over, plug and play as you would a pc.
i might have a disc drive
what xbox is it?
You don't just swap it as the drive is programed to the motherboard. You either flash the new drive or swap the drive and take out the circuit board but that requires soldering. I can do it for forty

this video does not say anything about soldering

If you are swapping the drives without flashing you do
When I did mine, I followed this video, and used board from my drive in new drive, no flashing involved, and no soldering, and it worked perfect, and still working now.
It depends on drive, some drives need solder, one of them doesn't.

Not being technical it's a 360 premium with a 60 gig hard drive. Can't tell you anymore as it's all Chinese writing.
