hi guys

i seem to be having a problem picking up the bbc channels on my DTV. aerial is fed direct from the roof on its on cable. it does seem very delicate, ie, i can move it around a lot when its plugged into the tv.

any way i can sort this out so i can watch telly in the bedroom? i dont want to buy a signal booster etc if i dont need to

cheers

If the aerial doesn't work-try Daz.

You probably just need a new coax connector on the end. B&Q, Screwfix and Toolstation all sell them.

I get the same problem with bbc but my tv picks up bbc wales etc better...never had problems with me old big bugger of a box tv with a separate freeview box.

If it's picking up Wales better than Granada what you need to do is remove the aerial plug from the back of the TV and then rescan for channels (the counter should start about 32) as it reaches 50 plug the aerial back in, it should now pick up the channels you want.

Welsh channels are lower down the range and it finds them first, by skipping the 32-50 group you avoid loading those channels.

But I assume your aerial needs to be pointing the right way for this ? In about 2010 a new sigital transmitter was turned on in Staunton, from where I live it is due south. With digital tv the angle ( vertically or horizontal) is also important. If it doesn't work with changing your ends then get a pro in mate
