i'm looking to get a new sat nav but i'm after one that can ALSO be used on foot
cheers
Nokia 5230! Works fine 4 me and on foot.
tomtom one, think they`re only £100 now too
If you have a Windows Mobile, get in touch with Mr Garmin aka POMP. He has all the kit for Garmins and all the software for Garmin on WinMo. Works a treat for me both in the car (has actually replaced my Garmin i3 GPS system) and on foot. Used it a few times on foot and not really had any problems.
sorry, no windows mobile
was looking at this, can't find it anywhere else at anywhere near this price
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/623652/GARMIN-NUVI-265Wsold out, was a great price as well. i'll need europe mapping as i'm taking the scoob to the nurburg then stelvio pass next month
ahhh good man, i'll shall order that straight away
As Steven1972 suggested - have you not got Google maps on your mobile? That does gps and will plan your walking route
Not google maps. Its nokia maps no internet connection needed its a proper sat nav,u can have your own voice to guide u lol.
No offence softy, but having tried Google Maps a few times (for some reason all builds of Microsoft Windows Mobile seem to ship with it lol) prior to getting POMP to install Garmin on my phone, I can honestly say it is the biggest load of crap ive ever seen for a GPS system - to the point where I actually don't think Google really intend it to be used in such away, the realtime guidance system seems to be a total afterthought, that the Google developers have spent 5 minutes cooking before serving it to the public.
The problem with Ovi maps is it may be free, but I would not want to be trusting it to guide me around Europe, having seen how crap it was when I had the N95; free is very rarely equal or even a close second, to best. in addition to this, it is only available on certain Nokia Smartphones (not all), so unless you are really strange/crazy, or have misguided belief that Symbian is somehow still a decent smartphone OS lol (the world moved on 5 years ago and Nokia are still trying to work out how and where to), it's pretty much useless to most people lol.
Its a lot better than n95 that was years ago! I cant complain at my nokia for £68 quid theres even a cracked tom tom sat nav 4 it tho i aint got a clue wot u do to install it but ovi maps works fine.
