We had tiny amounts of Uranium and Plutonium in school in little shielded 'holding' devices. My mate got chucked out of class because he claimed the teacher pointed one at him.
I think it's a good idea, but I think the whole terrorism thing is played up far too much.

I think they use these batteries in pacemakers don't they?
